Dry film roll storage is treated as a warehouse detail until a panel is exposed, developed and then shows lines that are narrower than the artwork. By that point the film has been consumed and the evidence is gone. Why Dry Film Roll Storage Decides Photospeed
Photospeed is the exposure energy required to produce a given resist image. It depends on the photoinitiator system inside the film, and that chemistry reacts slowly but continuously with heat and moisture. A roll stored in a warm room for months needs more exposure energy than the same roll stored cool.
The practical symptom is a resist that develops inconsistently: thin lines lifting while thick lines hold, or residue in small openings. Operators then raise exposure energy to compensate, which damages resolution. Temperature excursions are cumulative, so a roll that spent a warm week in the store does not recover even after it is stored correctly again. Condensation on Film After Removal From Storage
Condensation on film is the main risk of cold storage. Move a cold roll into a warm, humid lamination room and moisture beads on the surface and inside the roll. That moisture causes adhesion failures, pinholes and uneven development that look like a lamination problem.

Film Shelf Life and Stock Rotation

Use a simple inventory rule with a maximum and minimum stock level per film type, and include the receipt date on the label.
